Episode 4 Predictions

September 14, 2008 at 8:32 pm | In Uncategorized | 12 Comments

Who’s staying? Who’s going? Who’s crying over their hairdo? Here are my picks.

Very Likely -
It makes me a bit sad, since she was my pre-show favorite, and I did see a lot of potential, but frankly, she’s just not living up to that potential, AND she’s letting the drama in the house get at her emotionally — not a good sign for an aspiring ANTM. So unless they give her an edgy look and it transforms her attitude and modeling abilities (hey, it’s been done before!), she should definitely fear the bottom two.
Somewhat Likely –
I have this gut feeling that she’ll turn out to be this cycle’s Katarzyna — the girl that the fans love, and that takes good pictures, but that the judges just never seem to appreciate. And since we haven’t heard much from her yet anyways, I could see her getting the “no personality” cut. I do think that she’ll stick around at least a bit longer… at least long enough to prove herself to the fans.

Quite Possible -
She really is the “Marvita” of this cycle… the girl that EVERYONE was talking about pre-show, whom everyone either really loved or really hated even before the show began. Even now, we can see that the “I-used-to-be-a-man” hype has died down a bit, and as her time in the spotlight dims, so does her chances of making it much further. We can see her struggling on the photo shoots, and going from second-place to the bottom two is a huge indicator of the judges’ disinterest in her.

Quite Possible -
She hasn’t put forth a phenomenal picture yet, and she seems the type that would have a really hard time adjusting were Tyra to give her a short, boyish ‘do (which she’s very likely to do. Other things working against her — she already kissed Elina, and nothing more seems to have come of that storyline… by resolving that tension so early on in the cycle, hanging onto Clark for the drama factor no longer may be necessary.

Quite Possible -
She’s been quite middle-of-the-road thus far, and hasn’t really stood out much personality-wise, either, so a lot is going to depend on her makeover and how she pulls it off. If Tyra makes her chic and trendy, and she embraces her new look, she just might have a chance of making it far. As is, she’s boring and not likely to go much further.
.
.

Possibly -
After her stellar photograph last week, LB has a LOT to live up to, and who can really say if she’s up to the pressure? I’m very interested to see what they do with her makeover this week, because I really do think that it will either make or break her.
.
.
.

Unlikely -
If McKey were to be eliminated early, it would be a tragedy of utmost proportions. She has an interesting edit right now — lovely, lovely photos that the judges don’t really say much about, a quiet personality, and not a whole lot of screen time. From past cycles, I’d say this bodes fairly well for her, and that she’ll probably make it overseas. Now, if they start focusing on her during this next episode, we’ll know she’s doomed.

Unlikely -
Brittany has a few things going for her right now, the largest of which seems to be the fact that Tyra just eliminated two black girls in a row — very unusual in ANTM history, especially this early in a cycle. So the thought of the third gone being the remaining most promising black girl seems quite unlikely.
.
.
.

Unlikely -
Besides being one of the only black girls left, she has that certain something that the judges love — she looks completely different in photos than she does in real life. I think she’ll make it far, if her first photos and the judges’ reactions to them are any indicators.
.
.
.

Very Unlikely -
Elina has it all — she has fierce photos, great posing, an interesting personality, and she creates drama in the house. The judges have been raving about her and are unlikely to eliminate her anytime soon. Plus, she seems from pre-show pics to be pretty flexible with her look, so the makeover is unlikely to faze her at all, regardless of what they do.
.
.

Very Unlikley -
I see no reason at all why they would eliminate Marjorie at this point. Even if she bombs the next photo shoot, she’ll have the successes of her first two shoots to stand up under at least for awhile. I do worry about her nervousness/shyness getting in her way, but Tyra normally doesn’t start kicking out those girls until much later, so Marjorie should definitely be safe for now.
.
.

Very Unlikely -
The judges had the perfect opportunity to eliminate her this past week with her “no, my boobs are real!… Oh, nevermind… I lied, they’re not” stunt in panel. They could have very easily used this as an example of lack of class, lack of character, and overall un-Tyra-ness. But the fact that they let it slide without even putting her in the bottom two to shake her up a bit convinces me that they plan on keeping her around for quite awhile.

  1. I highly highly doubt Sam is going home soon. Her edit is pretty good right now, and the judges are raving about her having so much potential, but not really able to use it, etc. She *may* get in the bottom two, however. Cassandra C8 and Fatima C10 both got a 6th call-out on both their first and second photoshoots, like Sam. They both landed in the bottom two in their third photoshoot.

  2. I LOVE this! I had read cycle 10, happy to have you back. hannah and analeigh are my favorites too!! but i absolutely agree with all of your predictions.

  3. VERY LIKEY: Hannah
    LIKELY: Analeigh (unfortunately), Clark
    MODERATE: Brittany, Isis, Samantha, Sheena
    UNLIKELY: McKey
VERY UNLIKELY: Elina, Joslyn, Lauren Brie, Marjorie

Oh, Boof., I noticed that pattern too!

  4. Oh, and makeover prediction-wise…
GIRLS WITH LONGER HAIR: Brittany, Elina, Isis, McKey
GIRLS WITH SHORTER HAIR: Joslyn, Lauren Brie, Samantha, Sheena (trimmed)
    GIRLS GETTING DYED BLACK: Clark
GIRLS GETTING DYED BROWN: Marjorie, McKey
    GIRLS GETTING DYED RED: Analeigh
GIRLS GETTING DYED BLOND: Hannah, Lauren Brie (lighter)

  5. Unfortunately, I believe Analeigh has the potential to be next. Although she has some great pre-show experience, a wonderful look, legs to DIE for, and a beautiful face, she is most definitely the Katarzyna of this cycle. Everyone loves her already, but she barely gets screen time, and she is not being called as high as she should be.

Samantha, although I don’t like her very much right now in terms of personality AND looks, they’d better do quite a bit to change her. I’ll agree with Tyra and say a boyish cut would do her well.

Hannah’s very likely to go next. I already know the shoot (and I’m very diligent with giving spoilers), and it does not seem like it would be her type to do well in. At all.

Brittany is a filler girl. And the black girls this cycle are more disappointing than the ones last cycle (although I loved Fatima from the start). Let’s hope they’re able to do better.

Isis…thanks to the hype, her 15 minutes of shame is going down. Although, once she leaves, I know she’ll be a landmark (she already is, but no one is in amazement any longer).

My opinion, Hannah goes next. Who I want to go next, Joslyn, but I so know that won’t happen, thanks to Tyra’s ever-infamous favoritism.

  6. Like usual, I agree 100% with Dorian. Analeigh has been really getting the short end of the stick. She’s a sweet girl and takes good photos but I guess that’s not enough. They also need to stop criticizing her for not bringing her ice skating grace into the shoots. As an ice skater myself, ice and land are completely different things. I’ll can tell you now that I fall down on land a lot but can be relatively graceful on ice. I think Analeigh and Hannah are on the chopping block. 3 black girls in a row is improbable on Top Model.

  7. Well, the black girls last cycle weren’t really that disappointing. There was the lovely Fatima (not sarcasm), and Dominique, and Stacy-Ann…and Marvita…and Atalya…oh, dear, they really were disappointing.
But the cycle 7 black girls were even more disappointing! Christian? Monique? Jaeda? Eugena? It was like there was one bomb after another!
The coolest cycle in terms of African American contestants was by far cycle 3. Eva, Yaya, and Toccara somehow balance Kelle out.

  8. I think the cycle 6 black girls were really cool too. Danielle [being the ultimate one that season], Furonda and Nnenna balance Jade and Wendy out too. I honestly think that Jade should’ve gone home week two, when her and wendy were in the bottom 2. But oh well.

  9. If I had to predict someone leaving the house it would have to be Hannah as well. The drama from the girls will get to her otherwise. I don’t feel Analeigh will leave just yet. Although she’s been getting airtime, I feel there isn’t anything that is really limiting. I think we’ve still yet to see something come from her. Althoguh I also believe that she doesn’t need ANTM to keep modeling or get hired.
    ……………
Brittney, although the likeliness of another black female to be voted out is rather slim, do you think she’ll be voted out because someone wants to put her in catalogs already? :P I feel like some models are chosen to leave early because other agencies want them for their own. (secretly)Just a thought.
    >……………………
Something that concerns me about Elina, is that although she has the strikingly sexy look, she has the same look, all the time. Yes her features are very strong. Her face alone attracts you to her picture. It’s almost like Yoanna’s (cycle 2) face was the most striking attribute to the picture. And albeit, she knows how to pose and angle her body well. But I’m worried about the variety in her face. I think she’ll go far, but I don’t think she’ll win. But like most contestants, they don’t need to win ANTM to get hired as models. :)

  10. Christine, you’ve taken the words right out of my mouth. But I have to respectfully disagree with Analeigh not having a chance to go home. And I actually agree with your hypothesis, because how many times have you heard Tyra insinuating, or actually SAYING, “This girl NEEDS this.”? And then they become the winner. Brittany is on many ANTM fans’ chopping blocks, but ANTM runs on politics and race, so even if she does horribly, 3 black girls deleted in a row is nearly impossible, as amy said, to a higher extent.

Elina, I love her. I really do, but I’ve noticed that too. If I were someone booking her for a job and I saw her portfolio, I’d just think, “Would this signature face do well for this ad?” It certainly could, or it couldn’t. If she doesn’t give variety soon, I think her career as a model would be in serious jepoardy. She already doesn’t have the body of a high-fashion model, although the face is strong. I just hope she’s able to look different.

Jhg812, yet another agreement. I actually forget about Kelle because she was so mediocre, but notice that some really sucky black girls made it to 3rd Place (Keenyah, Bre, Eugena) and again, because it runs on politics. Only awesome black girl who made it to 3rd Place is Fatima. <33

I love diversity in models (otherwise I wouldn’t be spending my time with so many model-oriented shows), but I wish they were chosen out of talent over just an aesthetic look that is different, but not necessarily beneficial. ANTM has had some greater black girls in the past, but some of the more current ones are bad representations, in my opinion. Cycle 12 (wow, I’m ALREADY talking about it), better have even better models than this one (although these models are better than quite a bit of the previous ones in previous cycles overall).

  11. Oh, and along with Fatima, Jade. Who were probably the most hated girls of their cycles (but Tyra does that, she takes the most dramatic and puts them in 3rd/4th place). I mean…(although antm11 will probably have my head for this), Jayla over Lisa in C5? Ha! And Bianca making it as far as she did…laughable, in my view.

The end result of this cycle better be better than the previous two. Argh.

  12. Well I have to say that I’m quite impressed with this cycle, the ones that weren’t good enough get’s put in their correct place in order. But I have my opinions on each girl and they are very different. Hannah is a pretty girl and all but I just don’t a model from her, she’s high on caffeine and all but she’s not impressive, so I’m kind of surprised that she’s still around but I’m thinking not for long. Analeigh I had a feeling that she was going home tomorrow but she does have something in her but she’s a bit too shy to get it all out, she’s almost there but just not quite, I just feel like shaking her so we can see a lot more potential. Just seeing her shoot yesterday I was like what is she doing, she needs to do more. Her first two shoots were impressive but just the last one wasn’t good enough. Isis I like what she brings to the table but I just don’t see a model in her, she has a story to her but that’s more of a role model type not a model. She’s doing her best but she’s at the bottom for me. I see her going far because of what she was been through to get to where she’s at right now. Clark is a beautiful girl and I’m loving her makeover but she doesn’t have it yet. Her photoshoot was alright but she just needs more improvement. But she does have something she needs to let it all out. Samantha is a huge transformation from the last episode. She went from cute girl not a model quite yet and now she is a model for me, her makeover did her good and it shows from her photo yesterday. I think she can go far in the competition. Lauren Brie is at the top right now, her first photoshoot was cute but she needed more work and then from the second to the most recent, I think she’s getting better and better, I can see her being compared to Caridee. I also can see her going far in the competition, farther than the rest so far. McKey is stunning with her new look and so far she’s one of the best models so there is nothing more to say than she’s going to make it far, there is no doubt in that. Joslyn, I like her personality but I don’t see a model in her just yet. I loved her first photoshoot but there is something more to her but I just don’t see it yet. Elina right now is my top favorite, she’s stunning and just her look is amazing. I so would love to see her make it the finals, I can see that from her. Marjorie is another of my favorites. At the beginning I seen her as cute but not a model possibly now I’m like that girl is a model, I’m not crazy about her makeover I wanted to see her get a weave and keeping her hair blonde but just darken it a little bit, but she’s still one of the best and I also can see her making it far, she just needs to stop being shy and having her head down. And as for Sheena, I love her personality and she has that model look. I liked her since the beginning and nothing isn’t going to change that. I see her making it far as well, possibly top 5 or top 6.
